"The End of education is Character" says Sri Sathya Sai Baba .
The schooling at Madhuvan Sai Vidyashram is designed to open all doors to the students to express themselves fully while reminding them the ancient adage "Vidya Dadaathi Vinayam".
The life at Madhuvan consciously discourages snobbish life style and attitudes and encourages simple living and high thinking. The emphasis is on community living, sharing and caring for each other.
Madhuvan lays emphasis on inculcating the following attitudes in its students :
Reverence to parents and teachers.
Respect the wisdom of elders and all religions.
Trust and co-operation among peers.
Loyalty towards the Nation and service to the needy.
Faith in one's conscience and meaningful outlook towards life.
Recognising the diversity permeating through the social fabric, Madhuvan has adapted the following features as its organizational culture to achieve total quality management :
Discipline : growth oriented - effectively balanced with freedom of expression.
Student-teacher interactions - a right balance between formality and informality; the advantageous Teacher : Student ratio of 1:23 has been exclusively designed to make Madhuvan maneuverable to changes in global environment.
Inter- personal relations - a right balance between independence and interdependence
Intra-personal relations - a right balance between sensitivity and courage
Dignity of Labour : Students are empowered to serve, to make them understand the value of work - through social service and self-reliance.
Conservation of environment , energy and natural resources is advocated.
Group Dynamics : right from a class III student to the Principal, a togetherness exists as a single family - with a right balance between love and respect.
Leadership : contributes apart from control - hence teachers, at the primary school act as 'an authority with love' and at the secondary school act as 'elder friends who guide'.
Discrimination : apart from extending co-operation and support to their peers, students are encouraged to compete with teams of other schools.
Religious Tolerance : the unity and essence of all religions is experienced by students by celebrating Id-ul-Fitr and rejoicing the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas every year understanding the depth of message conveyed by those festivals.
